The Center for Mathematics Studies at ULisboa is starting a new series of Distinguished Lectures, honoring the pioneer of set theory and discoverer of the famous Inclusion-Exclusion principle, Daniel Augusto da Silva. "One of the most useful principles of enumeration in discrete probability and combinatorial theory is the celebrated principle of inclusion–exclusion.
